Body
WHEREAS, Communities Creating Opportunity is a non-profit organization that promotes racial equity and economic disparity in Kansas City's urban core through working with community leaders on violent crime prevention; and,
WHEREAS, Communities Creating Opportunity has submitted a request in the amount of $500.00 to COMBAT for sponsorship of its Soul of the City event to be held April 9, 2016; and,
WHEREAS, this sponsorship will allow Jackson County the opportunity to promote its anti-violent crime campaign; and,
WHEREAS, in exchange for its sponsorship, COMBAT will receive advertising in the event program and recognition at the event; and,
WHEREAS, said sponsorship is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized issue a check to Communities Creating Opportunity, in the amount of $500.00 for sponsorship of its Soul of the City event.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
