Body
WHEREAS, the Kansas City No Violence Alliance (NoVA) is a collaborative initiative between the County, the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and the Kansas City Police Department to reduce homicide and violent crime in the urban core; and,
WHEREAS, the COMBAT staff recommends a Cooperative Agreement with G.A. Dumas, LLC, of Kansas City, Missouri, for the furnishing of substance abuse and cognitive restructuring services to clients of the NoVA project, at a cost to the County not to exceed $8,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, execution of an agreement for the furnishing of these services is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of Jackson County that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement with G.A. Dumas, LLC, of Kansas City, MO, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
