Body

 WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4481, dated November 19, 2012, the Legislature did authorize the acceptance of the 2012 Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) in the amount of $208,000.00, received from the U. S. Department of Justice for the period of October 1, 2011, through September 30, 2015; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has requested, and the U.S. Department of Justice has approved, an extension of this grant through September 30, 2016; and,

 

 

WHEREAS, the requested extension will allow for the continuation of funding for salary and benefits for drug court employees and one data analyst through September 30, 2016; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the 2012 Justice Assistance Grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice, be and hereby is extended until September 30, 2016; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive and all other County officials be and hereby are authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to the extension.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
