Body
WHEREAS, Kansas City Pet Project is a non-profit organization operating the Kansas City Animal Shelter; and,
WHEREAS, K.C. Pet Project has submitted a funding request for its Roadrunner Fund Program to provide veterinary care to critically ill, injured, and homeless animals in the area; and,
WHEREAS, the Roadrunner Fund, named for a severely injured little dog who lost his eyes from animal abuse, seeks to provide funding for veterinary care for more than 1,400 dogs and cats that arrive at the shelter annually with severe injuries and illness; and,
WHEREAS, this funding project through K.C. Pet Project is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to place the funds for this project in the proper spending account; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2015 Health Fund:
