Body
WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri, renewed the sales tax to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs and violent crime in our community; and,

WHEREAS, the proceeds and interest generated from this tax are deposited in a special Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund that is segregated and not commingled with the general fund or any other special funds of the County; and,

WHEREAS, several factors in the metropolitan area have resulted in the reduction of the availability of residential services as part of the COMBAT treatment program; and,

WHEREAS, Healing House submitted a proposal on Request for Proposals 76-14 to provide housing for up to 110 adults through three men's homes, three women's homes, two multi-family units; and,

WHEREAS, the COMBAT staff recommends an agreement with Healing House for the furnishing of residential treatment housing services, at a cost to the County not to exceed $70,000.00, to address this need for additional residential services in our area; and,

WHEREAS, the execution of an agreement for the services with Healing House is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an agreement with Healing House in the amount of $70,000.00 for the furnishing of drug treatment residential services, in a form to be approved by the County Coun...
