Body

 WHEREAS, Adam Caine, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, has been named a recipient of the Missouri Bar’s Lon O. Hocker Award for 2015; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Lon O. Hocker Award is given annually to three Missouri attorneys representing each region in Missouri: St. Louis, Kansas City, and outstate Missouri; and,

 

WHEREAS, recipients of the award are trial attorneys under the age of 40 who have demonstrated a balance of zealousness, honor, strength, courtesy, confidence, and respect, and who possess a quick wit in the courtroom that is supported by meticulous preparation in pursuit of truth; and,

 

WHEREAS, Adam is a 2009 graduate of the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law and the Bloch School of Business & Public Administration; and,

 

WHEREAS, Adam has served in the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office since February 2011 as a Trial Team Leader for the Jackson County No Violence Alliance (NoVA) program; and,

 

WHEREAS, previously Adam has received the Jackson County Distinguished Leadership Award, the Patrick B. Hall Trial Attorney of the Year Award, and the Rookie/New Attorney of the Year Award; and,

 

WHEREAS, prior to joining Jackson County, Adam was a Law Clerk in the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri for the Honorable J. Dale Youngs and served an externship for the Honorable Sarah W. Hays of the United States District Court; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Lon O. Hocker Award was established in 1954 and is named after a notable St. Louis trial attorney, Lon O. Hocker; and,

 

WHEREAS, award winners are selected by a panel of three or more federal or state judges and is presented at The Missouri Bar Association Annual Meeting; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Adam Caine on the occasion of his receipt of the Lon O. Hocker Award and extends best wishes to him in all of his future endeavors.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
