Body
WHEREAS, William G. ("Bill") Snyder, Senior Deputy County Counselor, is retiring after serving 35 years as a County employee; and,

WHEREAS, although Bill's father was in the grocery business, he recognized the grocery business was not an industry suited to Bill's nature and encouraged him to attend law school; and,

WHEREAS, in 1976, Bill worked for the U.S. Senate campaign of Jerry E. Litton and gained valuable experience in Missouri and Jackson County campaigns and developed lifelong friendships with many national, state, and local political leaders; and,

WHEREAS, in 1980, Bill managed his father's winning grassroots campaign for the Independence City Council that led to his father serving as the City's mayor pro tem, the restoration of union jobs in the City's power and light service, and the reopening of the streets on the Independence Square; and,

WHEREAS, after law school, Bill accepted a position as the law clerk for Circuit Court Judge, Jack E. Gant and later joined the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, where he became the Assistant Director and Chief Legal Counsel for the Family Support Division and served as President of the Missouri Child Support Enforcement Association in 1984; and,

WHEREAS, in 1987, Bill accepted a position as an Assistant County Counselor where he has served for 28 years, holding the positions of Deputy County Counselor, Senior Deputy County Counselor, Acting Chief Deputy County Counselor, and Acting County Counselor; and,
