Body
WHEREAS, a Roth 457 plan is a type of defined contribution retirement plan in which taxes are paid on the contributions but not on the withdrawals; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends under section 810, Jackson County Code, 1984, that the County’s deferred compensation providers be authorized to offer a Roth 457 plan option to County employees as an employee benefit, at no cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, offering this additional employee benefit is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County’s employee benefits plans include an option for Roth 457 defined contribution retirement plan; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to execute any documents necessary to give effect to this Resolution.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
