A RESOLUTION awarding a contract on Bid No. PW 01-2015 for the 2015 Pavement Maintenance Project (asphaltic concrete overlay), No. 3185, to Superior Bowen Asphalt Co., LLC, of Kansas City, MO, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $997,035.00, and authorizing the Director of Public Works to approve line item adjustments under this contract at no additional cost to the County.

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW 01-2015 for the 2015 Pavement Maintenance Project, No. 3185, for use by the Public Works Department; and,
WHEREAS, notifications were distributed through advertisement and online posting and five responses were received from the following:

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends the award of a contract for the 2015 Pavement Maintenance Project, No. 3185, to Superior Bowen Asphalt, Co., LLC, for the reason that it submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, after the bids were opened, the Director of Public Works recommended an additional project consisting of milling and asphalt overlay to Middleton and 97th Streets; and,
WHEREAS, this additional one-half mile of work increased Superior Bowen's original bid by $60,000.00, to a total revised amount of $997,034.89; and,
