Body
WHEREAS, the Land Bank of Kansas City, Missouri was formed to rehabilitate blighted properties located in Kansas City, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, the Land Bank owns certain parcels of property that are located adjacent to a small Jackson County park property located at 2522 Chestnut Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, the Land Bank has submitted a request to the County for donation of this property to the Land Bank to enhance its ability to promote redevelopment in this area, contingent upon an environmental site assessment of the property; and,
WHEREAS, the site assessment is completed and the Director of the Parks + Rec Department recommends that the property located at 2522 Chestnut Avenue, Kansas City, MO, legally described as Lot 24 and the East 1/2 of vacated alley west of and adjoining, and Lot 25 and the East 1/2 of vacated alley west of and adjoining, Block 4, Prospect Park, a subdivision in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, Parcel No. 28-430-27-30-00-0-00-000, be conveyed to the Land Bank of Kansas City, Missouri; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to convey the parcel described above, located at 2522 Chestnut Avenue, Kansas City, MO, to the Land Bank of Kansas City, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, for the purpose of better maintaining this property and revitalizing the area in which it is located; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that County officials are hereby authorized to execute any and all necessary documents to convey the above...
