Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 18554, dated June 23, 2014, the Legislature did authorize an agreement with Brightergy of Kansas City, MO, for the lease and installation of a solar photovoltaic electric generating system on the Downtown Kansas City Courthouse, at an actual annual cost to the County in the amount of $2,400.00; and,

WHEREAS, the solar energy produced through the new system will offset the County's customary utility costs, for an estimated savings of $38,489.00 over the life of the lease agreement; and,

WHEREAS, under the terms of the Agreement with Brightergy, the County is to pay over to Brightergy upon receipt any rebates the County receives relating to the installation of the solar photovoltaic electric generating system; and,

WHEREAS, the County has received a rebate check from Kansas City Power and Light in the amount of $37,462.50, for the KCP&L Solar Rebate Program, to support the development of renewable technologies and positive impacts on our environment; and,

WHEREAS, these funds will be appropriated as part of the County's budget, Ordinance 4691, now under consideration before the Legislature; and,

WHEREAS, it is appropriate the Director of Finance and Purchasing be authorized to issue a check to Brightergy in the amount of $37,462.50, representing the amount of the rebate; now therefore,
