Body
WHEREAS, Vicki Fitzgerald is retiring April 16, 2014, after a cumulative 24 years of service to Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, Vicki began her career with Jackson County in 1987 as an appraiser for the Assessment Department; and,
WHEREAS, after a brief stint as Senior Real Estate Technician, researching acquisitions for the Kansas City Public School District, Vicki returned to Jackson County on March 1, 1999; and,
WHEREAS, Vicki has served as Assistant Director of Collection for 19 years and has twice served as the Acting Director, once in 1999 and her current appointment, which became effective August 16, 2012; and,
WHEREAS, Vicki's staff and co-workers have valued her dedication, knowledge, and devotion to the department; and,
WHEREAS, Vicki has long been the person the Collection staff turns to for help with taxpayer issues, questions, or problems; and,
WHEREAS, Vicki's commitment to her staff and co-workers will be missed by all; and,
WHEREAS, Vicki's children, Kevin, a systems engineer, and Cristin, a registered nurse, both live in St. Lake City, Utah; and,
WHEREAS, Vicki and her husband, Don Shields, look forward to spending time visiting Kevin and Cristin; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Vicki Fitzgerald on her retirement and extends best wishes to her in the future.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
