Body
WHEREAS, the City of Independence has requested a construction and grading easement from the County as part of its sidewalk and streetscape improvement project near the Jackson County Election Board located at 215 N. Liberty, Independence, MO; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that the County execute the attached temporary construction and grading easement with the City of Independence for the Truman Road Streetscape, Phase II - Osage Avenue to Noland Road City Project, No. 70511204; and,
WHEREAS, this project will close Truman Road access to the Election Board for a minimal amount of time for improvements to the site; and,
WHEREAS, the County and representatives of the Election Board have agreed to donate the approximately 4,758 square feet as a temporary construction and grading easements to accomplish these improvements; and
WHEREAS, the execution of the attached easement and supporting documents is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the attached Construction and Grading Easement is hereby approved and that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the County the Agreements and any other documents necessary to give effect to this Resolution.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
