A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute cooperative agreements with certain municipalities within Jackson County for the purpose of funding their 2014 Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) programs, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $916,100.00.

Body
WHEREAS, COMBAT staff reviewed requests by certain municipalities for 2014 DARE program funding and provided funding recommendations to the Jackson County Drug Commission on February 12, 2014; and,
WHEREAS, COMBAT staff and Jackson County Drug Commission now recommend these DARE programs be funded in the following amounts:
MUNICIPALITY ALLOCATION
City of Blue Springs $122,000.00
City of Grain Valley $ 54,500.00
City of Grandview $ 45,000.00
City of Independence $210,000.00
City of Lee's Summit $222,000.00
City of Oak Grove $ 40,600.00
Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners $222,000.00
TOTAL $916,100.00
now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute Cooperative Agreements with the cities of Blue Springs, Grain Valley, Grandview, Independence, Lee(s Summit, Oak Grove, and the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $916,100.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts.

ffective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
