Body
WHEREAS, with the relocation of the Public Works Department Vehicle Service Center to Grain Valley, MO, in 2006, County departments located in Kansas City, MO, began an arrangement with the City of Kansas City, MO, for the purchase of fuel from the City's Central Fleet location at 5300 Municipal Avenue, Kansas City, MO; and,
WHEREAS, increased fuel costs have caused total fuel purchases to rise to such a level as to require Legislative approval; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.2 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends a twelve-month term and supply contract with two twelve-month options to extend for the furnishing of fuel from the City of Kansas City, MO, as an acquisition from another government; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the purchase be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are contained in the then-current Jac...
