Body
WHEREAS, the existing wastewater treatment system at the Fred Arbanas Golf Course is deteriorated and in need of replacement; and,

WHEREAS, the Acting Director of Public Works solicited proposals for this project on Bid No. PW 05-2013 and received three submissions thereon, as follows:

Hettinger Excavating, LLC $74,000.00
Drexel, MO

All About Plumbing $122,000.00
Lee's Summit, MO

Cobra Contractors, LLC $133,000.00
Overland Park, KS

and,

WHEREAS, the Acting Director of Public Works recommends the award of a contract for the Fred Arbanas Golf Course Wastewater Treatment Plant Replacement Project, No. 3170 to Hettinger Excavating, LLC of Drexel, MO, under the terms and conditions of Bid No. PW 05-2013, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $74,000.00, as the lowest and best bidder; and,

WHEREAS, in the event that line item adjustments to the contract become necessary, it is appropriate that the Acting Director of Public Works be authorized to approve said line item adjustments to the extent there is no additional cost to the County; and,

WHEREAS, this project is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Acting Director of Public Works, and that the County Executive be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
