Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4164, dated October 26, 2009, the Legislature did authorize the acceptance of the 2009 Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) from the U. S. Department of Justice to provide funding for salaries and benefits of employees of the Jackson County Drug Court; and,
WHEREAS, the conditions of the grant required that the City of Kansas City, Missouri, as administrator of the grant, split equally with Jackson County the interest accrued at the end of the grant period; and,
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4534, dated June 3, 2013, the Legislature did authorize the appropriation of the Jackson County portion of the interest accrued through the grant; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri has allocated its portion of the accrued interest to Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the additional interest earned in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the fund balance of the Grant Fund be and hereby is made:
