Body
WHEREAS, Labor's Educational & Political Club Independent (LEPCI) has selected Senator Timothy P. Green of Spanish Lake, Missouri State Senator representing District 13 in North St. Louis County from 2004-2012, as Labor's Representative of the Year for 2013; and,

WHEREAS, Senator Green received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, graduated from the Electrical Industry Training Center (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)-National Electrical Contractors Association) in 1987, and worked as a foreman and general foreman during his twenty-two years at Briner Electric Co. of St. Louis; and,

WHEREAS, Senator Green served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 1989-2002 before moving on to the Senate, where he tirelessly fought anti-labor legislation in a challenging political environment; and,

WHEREAS, while in the General Assembly, Senator Green successfully prevented deregulation of the electrical industry and increased funding for the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations' and Office of the Attorney General's initiatives to enforce the Prevailing Wage Law and other pro-labor legislation; and,

WHEREAS, Senator Green, a third-generation member of the IBEW with four electrician siblings, has served as Registrar for Local 1 for fifteen years and is a member of the Missouri State Labor Council (AFL-CIO), the Greater St. Louis Labor Council, the Flourissant Valley Chamber of Commerce, North County, Inc., the Regional Development Association, the National Conference of State Legislatu...
