Body
WHEREAS, section 184.506, RSMo Supp. 2012, which governs the operations of the Kansas City Zoological District, provides that the district be governed by a commission whose membership is to include a resident of the County selected by a majority vote of the Legislature, chosen from among three persons nominated by The Friends of the Zoo, Inc; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature's current appointee to the commission, Chuck Caisley, has resigned from the commission for the reason that he is no longer a County resident; and,
WHEREAS, The Friends of the Zoo, Inc., has nominated Joanne Collins, Kevin Pistilli, and CiCi Rojas; and,
WHEREAS, it is now appropriate that the Legislature adopt this Resolution appointing a new member to the commission for the balance of the unexpired term to expire December 31, 2015; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following-named person be and hereby is appointed to the Kansas City Zoological District Commission for a term to expire December 31, 2015, under section 184.506, RSMo Supp. 2012:

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
