Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 17197, dated March 8, 2010, the Legislature did authorize the execution of an agreement with HNTB for professional engineering services in connection with improvements to Lee=s Summit Road between Anderson Drive and U.S. 40 Highway, at a cost to the County not to exceed $780,372.00; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 18136, dated March 25, 2013, the Legislature did authorize the execution of an Amendment to the original agreement to modify the bidding documents to comply with MoDOT standards, extend the schedule, perform additional design work, and design water main upgrades within the project plans, at an additional cost to the County not to exceed $224,706.00; and,

WHEREAS, certain City of Kansas City water mains must be relocated due to conflicts with the construction of the proposed improvement to Lee's Summit Road; and,

WHEREAS, the City has requested that additional water mains along the roadway project, outside those in conflict with the roadway project, be upgraded due to their age and poor condition; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City Water Services Department now requests that the County include water main work in the roadway project, in lieu of the City of Kansas City awarding a separate contract, in order to increase efficiency and reduce costs; and,

WHEREAS, the attached Cooperative Agreement sets forth the mutual understanding and obligations of each entity regarding the design and construction of water main relocations and up...
