AN ORDINANCE appropriating $500.00 from the fund balance of the 2013 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund in acceptance of an award from the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America, to be used specifically to promote COMBAT efforts to educate young people about the dangers of prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse.

Body
WHEREAS, COMBAT staff participated in the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) 50 Challenge to help raise awareness about the dangers of prescription and over-the-counter drug abuse; and,
WHEREAS, as part of this challenge, Jackson County COMBAT sponsored three town halls during National Medicine Abuse Awareness Month in October; and,
WHEREAS, Jackson County COMBAT has been awarded second place in this challenge and is the recipient of a $500.00 award; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary in order to place the award funds in the proper spending account; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and is hereby made:
