Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16636, dated May 12, 2008, the Legislature did authorize a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Greater Kansas City Buildings and Trades Council for the purpose of establishing salaries, rates of wages, hours of work, working conditions, and procedures for the settlement of differences; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17257, dated April 19, 2010, the Legislature did authorize an amendment to the MOU relating to benefits as a correction to the MOU; and,
WHEREAS, the District Council has requested a Second Amendment to the MOU for the purpose of implementing a training safety program that would allow painters employed by the County to attend a safety training program at no cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the execution of the attached amendment is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and is hereby, authorized to execute the Second Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the County in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
