Body
WHEREAS, on May 23, 2012, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, and other area law enforcement agencies will conduct a short-term joint sex offender compliance operation titled "Operation Grandview"; and,

WHEREAS, on May 31, 2012, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, and other law enforcement agencies will conduct an additional short-term joint sex offender compliance operation titled "Operation Raytown"; and,

WHEREAS, these operations will ensure that offenders are complying with county, state, and federal statutes; and,

WHEREAS, the U.S. Marshals Service may reimburse the County up to $1,758.24 for each of these operations, if there are overtime costs related to this joint operation and if sufficient funds are available; and,

WHEREAS, the Sheriff recommends the execution of the attached Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with the U.S. Marshals Service for these joint operations; and,

WHEREAS, these MOUs are in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Memoranda of Understanding with the United States Marshals Service; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the event reimbursement funds become available, the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to accept those funds.
