Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Detention Center desires to provide General Equivalency Diploma (GED) testing on-site to assist inmates who have prepared to take the General Equivalency Test; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Corrections recommends an agreement with the Junior College District of Metropolitan Kansas City, Missouri, to provide these services through June 30, 2012, and recommends funding in the amount of $750.00; and,

WHEREAS, this agreement is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Agreement with Junior College District of Metropolitan Kansas City, Missouri; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
