Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to lease vehicles for use by the Jackson County Drug Task Force; and,

WHEREAS, section 1030.1, Jackson County Code, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items or services to be purchased can be obtained from only one source and requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $25,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the officer in charge of the Drug Task Force has advised that, due to the unique needs of the Task Force for confidentiality and other law enforcement requirements, Lifestyle Leasing is the sole provider of leased vehicles on terms meeting the Task Force's needs in the Kansas City metropolitan area; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the lease of vehicles from Lifestyle Leasing of North Kansas City, MO, as a sole source provider of this service; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.
