Body
WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department has non-working computer equipment and electronics that has become obsolete, further described and itemized in the attached Exhibit A; and,

WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department recommends these items be transferred to UniCOR of Leavenworth, KS, for recycling, at no cost to the County; and

WHEREAS, additionally, the Information Technology Department has eight surplus complete computer systems, further described in the attached Exhibit B, that it requests approval to dispose of by donation to Arts-Tech of Kansas City (Jackson County), MO; and,

WHEREAS, Arts-Tech is coordinating a relief program with the Independent Living Center of Joplin, MO to provide replacement computers for individuals with disabilities that have lost their property in the Joplin tornado; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends that said property be declared surplus; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the property within the Information Technology Department, further described and itemized on the attached Exhibits A and B, be declared surplus and unusable personal property and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to dispose of it as indicated, pursuant to chapter 11, Jackson County Code, 1984.



Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
