Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County and the City of Kansas City have been awarded a grant by the Federal Transit Administration in the amount of $1.8 million to study transit alternatives along three transportation corridors within the County and City; and,
WHEREAS, the County and City will partner with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) and the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) in conducting this study; and,
WHEREAS, the City will contribute a local match in the amount of $135,000.00, to assist in funding its portion of the study, which will focus on the central city corridor between the Rivermarket and Union Station; and,
WHEREAS, the County will contribute a local match in the amount of $315,000.00, to assist in funding its portion of the study which will focus on commuter corridors along I-70 between Odessa and downtown Kansas City and along M-350 and the Rock Island Railroad right of way between Pleasant Hill and downtown Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, MARC will administer the grant and receive 2.5% of grant funds for its services; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, the KCATA, and MARC; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments required by th...
