Body
WHEREAS, on November 2, 2010, John J. Rizzo was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives representing the 40th District in Kansas City, MO; and,

WHEREAS, John's platform of fighting for a great school system, better police protection, neighborhood improvements, and affordable and accessible healthcare for all, enabled him to garner over 65 percent of the popular vote in the general election; and,

WHEREAS, John's success was the result of his hard work, energy, and commitment to making state government work to benefit the northeast area in which John has lived his entire life; and,

WHEREAS, John is committed to being a representative of all the people, working closely in his community to make it a safe place to live, work, and raise a family, while striving for greater economic development and a properly funded education system that will benefit every child; and,

WHEREAS, during the election, John received the endorsements of the Greater Kansas City AFL-CIO, IAFF Local 42 Firefighters Union, Greater Kansas City Building and Construction Trades Council, Teamsters Joint Council, and Freedom, Inc; and,

WHEREAS, John is a graduate of Rockhurst University, a board member of Truman Medical Center, a former member of the Kansas City Planning Commission, and a Jackson County Democratic Committeeman for the 11th Ward; and,

WHEREAS, John is supported in his achievements in public service by his wife Lindsay, his mother Silvia, his father Henry, and his brother Tony and his wife Stephanie; now therefore,
