AN ORDINANCE transferring $7,217.00 within the 2010 General Fund and appropriating $107,016.27 from the fund balance of the 2010 Grant Fund in acceptance of the Recovery Act - Stop Violence Against Women Grant awarded by the Missouri Department of Public Safety for a program focused on prevention and prosecution of domestic violence.

Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office has been awarded a grant in the amount of $99,799.27 by the Missouri Department of Public Safety for a program focused on prevention and prosecution of domestic violence in the County; and,
WHEREAS, this grant partially funds the salary of one full-time prosecutor assigned to the Domestic Violence Unit; and,
WHEREAS, the grant is not subject to a local match and additional funding of $7,217.00 is required to complete funding of the project; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary in order to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be and hereby are made:
