AN ORDINANCE appropriating $22,722.00 from the fund balance of the 2008 General Fund and awarding a contract for the repair of the chimney at the Independence Courthouse Annex to Brunn-Ulmer Construction Co., of Kansas City, KS, at a cost to the County not to exceed $22,722.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the chimney at the Independence Courthouse Annex serves as the vent for the boiler, and structural damage was sustained when the chimney was struck by lightning; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends a contract with Brunn-Ulmer Construction Co., of Kansas City, KS, for the repair of this chimney; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to cover the costs of repair; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the fund balance of 2008 General Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that a contract be awarded to Brunn-Ulmer Construction Co., of Kansas City, KS, in the amount of $22,722.00, and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of this award; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
