AN ORDINANCE appropriating $1,400.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2008 Grant Fund to cover a grant received from the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission for Missouri’s Blueprint for Roadway Safety: Aggressive Driving Enforcement Campaign, and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement for the participation of the Sheriff’s office in the May 2008, DWI Enforcement Wave.

Body
WHEREAS, the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission has awarded the Sheriff’s Office a grant in the amount of $1,400.00 to be used for the overtime Costs for the office’s participation in the Commission’s Missouri’s Blueprint for Roadway Safety: Aggressive Driving Enforcement Campaign; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office has requested the County Executive be authorized to execute an Agreement for its participation; and,
WHEREAS, the grant requires no local matching funds, and the term is May 2, 2008, to May 5, 2008; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the appropriate spending account; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made from the unappropriated surplus of the 2008 Grant Fund:
