Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) has been awarded a grant from the Paul and Dianne Shumaker Fund in the amount of $50,000.00 to provide for two staff attorneys whose primary role is to serve as guardians ad litem for children involved in drug-related cases; and,

WHEREAS, Jackson County CASA has requested $50,000.00 in anti-drug sales tax funds to serve as a local match to this private grant; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an Agreement with Jackson County CASA, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, at a cost to the County not to exceed $50,000.00; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
