Body
WHEREAS, Lee's Summit City Clerk, Denise Chisum, has received the Outstanding City Clerk award presented by the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association in recognition of her 16 years of distinguished service to the City of Lee's Summit and her visionary contributions to the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association; and,
WHEREAS, Denise began her role as the City Clerk in 1991 after six years of service to the Community Development Department of the City of Lee's Summit; and,
WHEREAS, at the local level, Denise initiated an electronically-based city council information packet system as an efficient paperless packet process, provides training for new employees on taking and transcribing minutes, and gives valuable city government and city history presentations to a variety of youth and civic organizations; and,
WHEREAS, Denise has also been instrumental in the progression of her profession by initiating a statewide city clerk certification program, establishing a legislative committee to monitor state legislation affecting city clerks, and providing training for new city clerks in areas such as management of meeting minutes and agendas, and records management; and,
WHEREAS, Denise is an effective community leader and an active member of the Missouri City Clerk and Finance Officers Association, the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, and the Lee's Summit Business and Professional Women's Organization; and,
WHEREAS, Denise was born and raised in Lee's Summit, is the mother of daughters Ramey Neal and Cali Cox, and grandmother to Abigail and Shea; now therefore,
