IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI

AN ORDINANCE increasing compensation for all County employees and eliminating all open county positions to provide the funds for said increase.

Body
WHEREAS, the County Legislature has adopted resolutions approving the Memorandums of Understanding with Local Union No. 42 of the International Association of Firefighters and the Carpenters District Council of Kansas City and Vicinity for the benefit of the staff of the Prosecutor's Office; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature supports fair and equitable compensation for all county employees; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that all open positions within County government, except those positions under the supervision of the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Court, be and hereby are eliminated upon the adoption of this Ordinance except for those positions agreed upon by the Department Heads and County Executive; and,

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Administration is authorized to transfer all such funds into appropriate accounts as may be necessary to provide increased compensation for county employees who are not members of the Prosecutor's office, including such transfers in excess of $10,000.00; and,

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that said compensation to non-prosecutor employees, except those positions under the supervision of the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Court, shall be distributed in the same manner as the 2005 compensation package for the employees of the Prosecutors Office represented by the Carpenters Union; and,

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that said additional compensation beyond budgeted amounts for County employees outside the Prosecutor's Office is applicable for 2005 only.
