Body
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs has awarded an extension to the Gun Control Prosecution grant for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office in the amount of $40,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, this grant increases the prosecution of violent, firearms related crime; and,

WHEREAS, said grant extension is subject to a $29,628.00 local match; and,

WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessarily to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; and,

WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,


BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 2004 General Fund and appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2004 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund be made to cover the extension of the Gun Control Prosecution grant for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office funded by the the United States Office of Justice Programs and the transfer of matching funds:
