WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director, pursuant to Section 1040.4 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, has identified an existing government contract, Mid-America Regional Council (MARC)/Kansas City Regional Purchasing Cooperative (KCRPC) Bid No. 09, for the furnishing of recycled office paper products for County-wide use and recommends the purchase of recycled paper products from Clayton Paper & Distribution of St. Joseph, MO and Corporate Express (Jackson County) of Kansas City, MO, in the estimated aggregate amount not to exceed $38,087.00 for a six (6) month period; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1064.00, Jackson County Code, 1984, requires that, for any such purchase in excess of $5,000, the Director of Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the purchase of recycled office paper products under the existing government contract award under Mid-America Regional Council (MARC)/Kansas City Regional Purchasing Cooperative (KCRPC) Bid No. 09 be made from Clayton Paper & Distribution of St. Joseph, MO and Corporate Express (Jackson County) of Kansas City, MO, in the estimated aggregate amount not to exceed $38,087.00 for a six (6) month period as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
