Body
WHEREAS, in an effort to permit the Legislature to more closely monitor the expenditure of funds through professional service contracts, it is deemed prudent by the Legislature that all monies intended for professional service contracts should be removed from all departmental budgets; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature believes that expenditures for professional services contracts should be appropriated from each of the funds on an as needed basis during the course of the fiscal year from the unappropriated surplus or fund balance from which these monies would have originated; and,
WHEREAS, this adjustment would be in the best interests of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature authorizes and directs a budget adjustment commencing with the 2005 fiscal year removing all professional service contract monies from departmental budgets and placing these monies in a single Professional Services Agreement Account.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
