Body
WHEREAS, the County has been awarded a grant in the amount of $7,035.00 by the U.S. Department of Justice - Bureau of Justice Assistance for its bulletproof vest partnership program; and,
WHEREAS, this grant is subject to a local match of 50% or $7,035.00; and,
WHEREAS, this grant will fund reimbursement of the cost of purchasing bulletproof vests; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the Special Road and Bridge Fund and appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2004 Grant Fund be made to cover the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program grant for the Sheriff's Department funded by the U.S. Department of Justice - Bureau of Justice Assistance and the transfer of matching funds:
