AN ORDINANCE appropriating $50,250.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2004 Grant Fund to cover the Family Centered Out of Home Care grant for the Jackson County Family Court funded by the Missouri Children's Division (previously referred to as the Division of Family Services) to implement this grant program through December 31, 2004.

Body
WHEREAS, the County has been awarded a grant in the amount of $50,250.00 by the Missouri Children's Division (previously referred to as the Division of Family Services), for its Family Centered Out of Home Care program; and,
WHEREAS, this grant will provide funding for the immediate involvement of Juvenile Officers in all potential and real out-of-home placements to facilitate joint decision making between the Juvenile Officer and the Children's Division at the earliest possible date to expedite permanency for children who come to the attention of the child welfare system; and,
WHEREAS, this contract has been extended for the period of July 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made for the Family Centered Out of Home Care Grant for the Jackson County Family Court funded by the Missouri Children's Division (previously referred to as the Division of Family Services) in the amount of $50,250.00; and,
