Body
WHEREAS, the County has been awarded a grant in the amount of $65,090.00 by the Missouri Department of Transportation Office of Highway Safety for its Traffic Safety Project; and,
WHEREAS, Jackson County ranks 1st in the State of Missouri for crashes caused by hazardous moving violations; and,
WHEREAS, this grant will fund reimbursement of overtime used for setting up sobriety checkpoints and the enforcement of other hazardous moving violations and allows for the purchase of five (5) mobile radar units and one stationary laser radar unit; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the proper spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made;
