Body

WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with EnviroSystems of San Jose, CA, for the furnishing of infection control disinfectants for use by the Department of Corrections; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that EnviroSystems of San Jose, CA, is the only known supplier of ECO TRU, which is the only EPA registered category IV disinfectant product in the United States that is non toxic, and which provides a safe and effective method of infection control in high risk environments such as the detention center; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract thereby made, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson Co...
