Intro
RESOLUTION # 14813, December 1, 2003

INTRODUCED BY Scott Burnett, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Sentry Technology, Inc., of Phoenixville, PA, for the furnishing of a juvenile fingerprint identification system for use by the Sheriff's Office; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Sentry Technology, Inc., of Phoenixville, PA, is the only known supplier of the proprietary juvenile fingerprint identification system required by the Sheriff's Office; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Sentry Technology, Inc., of Phoenixville, PA; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract.
