Body
WHEREAS, House Bill No. 1634, legislation pending before the 91st General Assembly of Missouri, sponsored by Representative Thomas Hoppe, would authorize performance audits and change expense funding requirements for certain land trusts including the Land Trust of Jackson County; and,

WHEREAS, the bill would require Jackson County and the City of Kansas City to advance funds to the Land Trust to meet budgeted expenditures; and,

WHEREAS, this legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program, and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space; and,

WHEREAS, no direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal; and,

WHEREAS, this legislation is in the best interests of the health, safety, and welfare, the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature supports House Bill No. 1634, legislation pending before the 91st General Assembly, and urges its passage.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
