WHEREAS, an appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2002 General Fund is necessary to cover the cost of an election day phone bank to allow the Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners to maintain better communications with its poll workers; and,

WHEREAS, the County Executive has recommended said appropriation as an amendment to her proposed 2002 annual County budget; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:
