Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 13399, dated October 23, 2000, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute agreements with certain agencies which provide assistance to homeless persons, at an aggregate cost to the county not to exceed $557,556.00 in calendar year 2001; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution 13944, dated December 10, 2001, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute agreements with certain agencies which provide assistance to homeless persons, at an aggregate cost to the county not to exceed $605,033.00 in calendar year 2002; and,

WHEREAS, included within these Resolutions was authorization for agreements with Mother's Refuge for its program providing temporary housing and case management services for pregnant and parenting teens who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless, in amounts not to exceed $30,000.00 for 2001, and $30,000.00 2002; and,

WHEREAS, due to a breakdown in communications between Mother's Refuge and County staffs, the Agreement for 2001 was never executed; and,

WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the majority of the previously authorized funding for 2001 and 2002 be combined into one two-year agreement covering both calendar years; and,

WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 28, 2002, the Housing Resources Commission recommended this course of action; and,
