Body
WHEREAS, the Medical Examiner, in response to a Request for Quotation issued by the Missouri Department of Corrections, has proposed that his office provide autopsy services for inmates who die at any of the correctional facilities located in the department's western region, at a fee payable to the County of $1,000.00 per autopsy; and,
WHEREAS, the department has accepted the Medical Examiner's proposal, subject to approval by the Legislature, and has issued a purchase order for these services in the amount of $12,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Medical Examiner recommends that he be authorized to provide these services; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Medical Examiner be and hereby is authorized to contract with the Missouri Department of Corrections to provide inmate autopsy services as proposed, and to execute any and all documents necessary to this purpose.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
