Body
WHEREAS, Jeffrey L. Bushur grew up in Jackson County, graduating in 1975 from Raytown South High School, where he was a member of the football and track teams; and,

WHEREAS, after a tour in the Panama Canal Zone with the United States Army, Jeff attended the University of Missouri - Kansas City, earning a B.A. degree in 1983 and J.D. degree in 1986; and,

WHEREAS, while in law school, Jeff began a distinguished career in the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney's office; and,

WHEREAS, since his admission to the bar in 1986, Jeff has held a series of positions within the office of ever increasing responsibility, including Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Chief of the Criminal Division, Trial Director, and Drug Prosecution Unit Team Leader; and,

WHEREAS, Jeff, now Senior Trial Attorney, has tried over his career in excess of fifty felony cases, ranging from property crimes to capital murder; and,

WHEREAS, Jeff is a two-time winner of the office's prestigious Louis Lombardo Memorial Award, annually presented to the Jackson County Prosecutor of the Year; and,

WHEREAS, Jeff, his wife Carolyn, and their sons Joseph and Michael live in Lee's Summit, where they are members of Holy Sprit Church, and Jeff enjoys fishing, guitar, reading, travel, woodworking, and coaching; and,

WHEREAS, Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan recently announced his appointment of Jeff to the bench of Division 33 of the Circuit Court of Jackson County, which Jeff will serve as its first judge, sitting in Independence; and,
