Body
WHEREAS, Muna Lee has spent four championship years at Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri, running for the Blue Eagles girls track program; and,

WHEREAS, the highlight of her illustrious career was when Muna qualified to compete in the Women's 100-meter race at the 2000 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Team Trials at California State University on July 14, and Muna reached the semi-final round, having achieved a time of 11.36 seconds in the preliminaries; and,

WHEREAS, leading her to this outstanding feat was her track coach at Central High School, Richard Samuels, who attended the trials with her; and,

WHEREAS, her many accomplishments at Central High School are the following:

10-time state track champion
State record-holder in 4A 100-meter and 200-meter races
Four-time 100-meter 4A state champion
Four-time 200-meter 4A state champion
4A state long jump champion in 1997, 2000
Gatorade Missouri Female Athlete of the Year, 1999
Wayne F. Campbell Award winner, 1999, 2000
Central High School 2000 Scholar Athlete
11-time All-State Track and Field selection by state media outlets
2-time All-Interscholastic League Conference Track Most Valuable Athlete
Amateur Athletic Union National Champion in 100-meter race
AAU/Missouri Valley Female Athlete of the Year, 1999
and,


WHEREAS, Muna plans to attend Louisiana State University where she will run in the women's track program in the Southeastern Conference; and,

WHEREAS, Muna is the daughter of Keith and Doris Lee and has a brother, Keith, and a sister, Mecca; and,

WHEREAS, Muna is to be commended for her many accomplishments, her hard work and perseverance in striving ...
