Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Blue Ocean of Tampa Bay, FL, for the furnishing of the Track-It auditing device and software license for use by the Management Information Systems Department; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that it not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Blue Ocean of Tampa Bay, FL, is the only supplier of on its own proprietary equipment and license; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director and that the Purchasing Director be and hereby is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract thereby made.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
