Intro
RESOLUTION #11169, February 20, 1996

INTRODUCED BY John Patrick Burnett, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Data General Corporation of Charlotte, NC, for the maintenance on electronic tabulating equipment for the Jackson County Election Board; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Data General Corporation of Charlotte, NC, is the only known supplier of maintenance on its own electronic tabulating equipment; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Data General Corporation of Charlotte, NC, for the maintenance on electronic tabulating equipment, in an amount not to exceed $7,586.00; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract thereby made.
